The Only Sign
from $58.95
The Only Sign was photographed at Boarhills Church near St. Andrews, Scotland. I was drawn first to the geometry of the scene — the small door, the window, the long stone wall, and the way all these rectangles sit against the rough texture of the church. From this angle, the building does not immediately announce itself as a church. The single gravestone at the left is the clue that changes the image, quietly suggesting the graveyard and the history of the place. I like that tension: a composition built from simple shapes, with one small detail adding the deeper story.
