Lots of Dots was photographed on a street in the Centro Histórico area of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Outside a café, this domino table had been set out for anyone who wanted to sit down and play. I don’t know how to play dominoes, but I didn’t need to — the scene caught me right away. The white dominoes, black dots, warm wood, and bright yellow door made such a strong, simple composition. It wasn’t until I edited the photos later that I noticed the small dots on the door echoing the dots on the dominoes, which made me like the image even more.
