Oak Cliff Optical was photographed in Oak Cliff, Dallas, on a late summer evening. I was walking by and couldn’t ignore the mix of details — the bold old sign, the oversized eyeglasses, the worn facade, and the layers of posters covering what was once a storefront. The whole scene felt like several different eras stacked on top of each other. I liked how graphic it was, but also how weathered and imperfect. It has that unmistakable feeling of a place that has changed, but hasn’t completely let go of what it used to be.
